You may be wandering if Texarkana is in Texas or Arkansas. Well…you would be right either way. There is a Texarkana, Texas and a Texarkana, Arkansas. Each city and state are separate municipalities. However, each share a common downtown area.
The State Line Post office which is shared with a Federal Courthouse is the only post office in the U.S. that sits between two states. The Courthouse is supposedly the 2nd most photographed in the United States with the U.S. Supreme Court building in Washington D.C. being the most photographed. It was neat to get a picture and be standing in two states at same time!

While downtown we enjoyed seeing some of the historic buildings. The First United Methodist building was a splendid structure. And one of the most unique houses we have ever seen was the Ace of Clubs house. It is shaped like the Ace of clubs playing card. The word is that it was built from money won from a game of poker with the draw of the Ace of clubs card.

The Four States Auto Museum is worth a look if you are in to vintage cars. They have cars from many different decades and are displayed in a well lit facility.
We always love to seek out hiking and biking trails when we visit different places. And Texarkana did not disappoint. We hiked the “Philip McDougal Trail. The trail is a part of Spring Lake Park and is approximately 1.75 miles long which was all cement.
We enjoyed the beautiful woods and lakes within the park. We biked on the Bringle Lake Trail. The trail circles the lake and is approximately 7 miles long. It was simply gorgeous!
If you visit Texarkana during the summer, we were told the Holiday Springs Water Park was a fun outing especially if you have kids or grandkids.
We stayed at Texarkana RV Park and Event Center. It was a gated park and big rig friendly with full hookups. The bathhouses were extremely nice and clean featuring tile and individual showers. There were two large pet areas, a fishing pond, playground for the kids and laundry. We would definitely recommend this park.
We will see you soon, Happy Trails!
