When you think of Florida you think of beautiful landscapes and beautiful white sand beaches!
Tampa’s landscape and Clearwater’s beach did not disappoint! The foliage as you see Wendy in the picture below was just a small sample of the vibrant flowers and plants found in Tampa.
Below you will find another thing for which Florida is famous. Yes, there were plenty of alligators around when we took this picture!
We took an excursion to Busch Gardens while visiting Tampa. If you like roller coasters, this park has an abundance of them, including one of our favorites, Serengeti Flyer. It has a height of 135 feet and will run up to 68 mph which is considered the tallest and fastest of its kind! Another highlight, the Serengeti train ride, takes you through 65 acres of natural beauty and a provides an up-close viewing of all types of animals. There were giraffes, zebras, ostriches and many more to see along the way. All in all a very worthwhile excursion.
Clearwater beach was amazing! It is rated as the #1 beach spot in the south from USA Today for 2023. (Also in 2016, 2018, and 2019) Wendy and I can definitely see why! The beach has beautiful white sand and is a very wide beach with plenty of room for you even on busy beach days. The water color was incredible. There is a concrete beach walk that runs adjacent to the beach that you can ride your bike, rollerblade or simply walk. It will lead you to many shops and restaurants if you like as well. There is an aquarium and a pier.
We stayed at Clearwater Travel Resort. It has full hookups. Lots of full timers were there. It was OK. It can be a little muddy when it rains.
Well that’s it for Florida for a while. We will see you soon at the next stop in Hilton Head, South Carolina. May God bless you and happy trails!
